Vocabulary #5

  1. venomous- extremely poisonous or harmful. Everyone was scared from the loose venomous snake
  2. stolid-revealing little emotion. There was a stolid look on his face.
  3. hypnotized-caption the whole attention of someone as if they were in a transe or a spell. The girl acted as if she was hypnotized. 
  4. suspended- temporarily put a stop to something from continuing. The kids got into major trouble so they got suspended from school.
  5. transformed-making a dramatic change in appearence or personality. The proffesor used his magic to transform the bratty student into a ferret.
  6. accused-A group or an individual who were charged with a crime or with a wrongdoing. The teen was accused of stealing from the store.
  7. anticipate- to look ahead with excitement about something happening in the future. The little girl anticipated for her birthday. 
  8. fringe- A border of loose threads or formed onto tassels. The blanket had fringe on the outer edges of the fabric.
  9. melancholy-A gloomy state of mind. No one noticed that the gorl had melancholic thoughts.
  10. earnestly-serious in intent or purpose. The boy was earnest and ambitious.
  11. dissolve-to break or loosen something up. The salt dissolved in the water.
  12. aggravate-To make worse or annoy. My sister likes to aggravate me while I'm doing homework.
  13. illuminate-light up. The moonlight illuminated the room through the blinds at night.
  14. capillary-smallest blood vessels. We learned about capillaries in biology.
  15. proboscis-the trunk of an elephant. The elephant used their proboscis to get water.
